The New York Yankees manager Joe Giradi has said that that the Yankees management will take it easy on their young player Ian Kennedy who has been struggling to play the game of baseball like a true Yankee professional. There have been speculations circulating that the formless Kennedy will be sent to the Minors League to get himself in better shape to play for the Yankees. Giradi said that the team does not need a fifth starter till the game on May 10 and hence a decision on Kennedy will be taken after further discussions.
Giradi is of the opinion that the 23 year old super right hander will be benefited by staying back in the Yankees camp as he could have instant attention from pitching Coach Dave Eiland. The Yankees are also short of players due to injury and hence many fans believe that the think tank of the Yankees will stick on to the services of Ian Kennedy.
