The first triple play in over a decade for the San Francisco Giants was not enough for them to win the game against the Padres as they went down 7-3 in a 13-inning game. The super triple play came in the eighth inning when Keiichi Yabu threw a low fastball which Padres Kouzmanoff hit along the ground to Castillo, third baseman. Castillo after making the first out threw the ball to second baseman Ray Durham who completed the second out and accomplished the rare feat when he threw the ball to first baseman John Bowker. The Giants fans who had bought tickets to watch this baseball game were happy to see the triple play from their team.
