The New York Yankees came through trumps with a 4-1 win margin over the Oakland Athletics last Thursday night and there was no better way that Hideki Matsui could have celebrated his 34th birthday than by hitting a grand slam in the game. Andy Pettitte was the other star performer for the Yankees as he notched up five hits and allowed only a single run in eight innings. The Yankees fans are very much delighted with the way the game had progressed on Thursday and are buying tickets in a rush expecting their team to perform even better during their forthcoming games. The Yankees manager Joe Girardi was pleased with the way his boys played on Thursday.
