So the Rays had a rough weekend, didn’t they?  They started the weekend tied up with the Phillies; now they’re down two games.  Just like that.  What a tough time for Tampa.  The Rays batting just hasn’t been present in the last few games, with several of their best hitters batting a grand total of 0%.  The bullpen hasn’t been holding up very well either, giving up several runs late in the last two games.  The Rays that we thought we knew and that might’ve had a chance haven’t showed up yet.  Their win on Thursday was due to the impressive pitching of their opener and closer that night.  Otherwise, the strength of the team has been really waning.  Where did they go?  Are they just nervous because they’re young? Philly is young too, and I would think that they would be nervous as well.  Who knows.  But they’d best get themselves in gear soon, otherwise the offseason is going to begin very soon indeed.
